Sewing Machine Problems?

Here’s an easy problem-solving list for you the next time your sewing machine doesn’t want to cooperate:

  1. Re-thread your machine.
  2. Check the bobbin (remove, make sure the thread’s going the right way, replace).
  3. Change the needle.
  4. Turn your machine off and back on (most machines made since 1980 have circuit boards – this will reset it).
  5. This is NOT a good stitch!
  6. Clean your machine thoroughly.

Repeat these 6 steps in desired order:
  1. Curse.
  2. Eat some chocolate.
  3. Repeat one or more steps above.
  4. Cry.
  5. Try a different thread.
  6. Take the poor thing in for service!

Take a deep breath and remember:
If you don’t make mistakes, you don’t make anything!!

  1. I was having some problems with mine...changed the needle, etc, then I realized that I was sewing with crappy thread and the upper started to shred. Blech. I need to buy more from Connecting Threads..the good stuff!
